Kelly Kiederer
I am a licensed LCPC in Maryland with 22 years of professional experience, dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges with empathy and expertise. Over the years, I have helped clients navigate stress, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship struggles, parenting concerns, family conflicts, ADHD, depression, and major life transitions.
My career has been deeply rooted in providing compassionate mental health care across diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, detention centers, after-school programs, group homes, residential treatment centers, and, more recently, teletherapy. No matter the setting, my goal has always been to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
How would you describe your approach to care?
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Each client is an individual and I like to take an eclectic approach to therapy. This means I take various therapeutic techniques and theories, tailoring my approach to each client's specific needs rather than strictly adhering to one single method; essentially, it's a flexible style that combines different approaches to best suit the individual client's situation.
What should be expected in the first session?
Our first session will be time spent establishing a therapeutic rapport and getting to know each other. This can be done by discussing background information, talking about what is bringing you into therapy or asking questions about the process. We may also discuss goals that you are hoping to achieve out of therapy. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
